EGR problems - valve or sensor? Fault P046C00 + P040700

Featured Replies

EGR and DPF are the reason I am back in a petrol after nearly 30 years of driving diesel, and I am only down 5-8mpg but saved £2k on the price of the car

next car I am looking at is a hybrid, as that seems to be the way forward for running costs and long term reliability (no egr or dpf issues)

currently doing about 25k miles / year

The final update - job completed. Many thanks to you all for the help and support. Knowing it was required, getting a good price and driving home with no flashing dashboard lights have left me very pleased.

I have attached a couple pictures of the old EGR valve / cooler. It is of no use to me and - unless someone here would like it - I intend to give it to the scrap metal guy. But if you can make use of it then that would be better of course, I'm in South Birmingham.
