Afternoon all,

As some may know, I'm due to be married in 2 weeks. We didn't really have a the budget for 2 cars for the wedding.. the missus has booked anew Alpine White BMW 7 Series, I'm arriving in my pride & joy - Rallye Green Fabia vRS.

I've been stressing about getting it polished up ready for the big day but not had the time.. so today was the chance I got as I'm working right up until the wedding & will only have chance for a decent wash & Wax.

After today's pre wash & safe wash the car was blown dry & wiped down before getting out my trusty swirl spotters & I was pretty gob smacked. 8 months ago myself & Stephen set to on the vRS ready for summer and polished it back using 2 DA's & Black Max Polish.

This is how the paint looked today as I assessed it....

Other than a little wash marring on the bonnet, NOTHING! So, it gave me a chance to play with some combos & I settled with 1 coat of Auto Perfection Intensify & 1 coat of Defintive Wax 0102 limited wax finished with a spritz of KKD Mist-X. The gloss & depth is exactly how I want it to look on the day and more than happy! Although any suggestions would be highly appreciated!

Hey buddy - that really is looking awesome....the condition of the paint on the vRS is a real credit to you and your detailing skills.

 

Can't argue with the waxes you have mentioned either.... all highly recommended.

 

Only other contender i would throw into the mix is KKD Seduction perhaps...

...of all the show waxes i know that Intensify and Seduction stood out when Alan tested them.

Thanks Taxboy. Depending on levels of dirt it's foamed twice 50% of the time before washing with several mitts and 2/3 buckets with guards. It's fairly hard paint with been the VAG group but still, I was quite impressed it didn't have a mark on it!

My missus has planned most of ours on her days off & a cracking job she has done too. I wish I could of planned more of it but due to work commitments it's been hard. Just hope all goes well!

To not have to polish the car after 8 months, as everyone has said, is a testament to the technique that you have established. You've come a long way Karl. I would not trust many people with either of my cars, but I wouldn't hesitate to let you take care of mine matey!!

Thanks Neil! Very much appreciated. Some say I go a bit over the top but when you get the lights on it, it's worth the effort. Can't wait to see it in the car park on the day, aswell as the missus of course haha!

Good to see you yesterday - albeit briefly dude! The vRS was looking and sounding great.

 

As Neil says above - a really top job as always and i know from the detailing days we have done in the last 12 months or so;

your work ethic, detailing techniques, product choice and time taken to get the perfect finish - are to be applauded!

Again, thanks for the positive comments. Alot is learnt from others like yourself & just Alot of research and practise.

I enjoy detailing to much to not put all my effort in every time I do something with a car & to have comments like above & the great finishes makes it all worth it!

Summer & Wedding Preparations done on the vRS! All prewash treatments and wash treatments.

Full decontamination (Tar removal, Iron Removal & Clay bar treatment.) Vehicle Re-washed and then blown dry with the metro blower.

Out came the Dual Action Polishing Machine with green pad & Britemax Black max polish, removing old wax coatings, slight wash marring & enhancing gloss. Full wipe down with Gtechniq Panel Wipe before applying EZ Granite Ultra Hybrid Paint Sealant.

Final step for the paint was to coat the car in Defintive Wax 0102 Limited Edition show wax!

All tyres & trim dressed. Windows cleaned and coated in H2GO Glass sealant. Wheels coated in high temp wax along with Exhaust pipes.

The final outcome was fantastic and exceeded my expectations. Will look cracking on Saturday!
