Interior Lights Stay On

Featured Replies

Hello everyone

I was wondering if anyone else has come across this issue or has any suggestions.

I have both the front and rear interior lights set to come on when the doors are open. This morning whilst driving, half way through my commute, both sets of interior lights came on. Since then they have stayed on even when all the car doors are closed. I have checked the boot too.

I do not get a door open warning light as the doors are shut. I have played around with VCDS which also shows that the door modules are detecting that the doors are indeed closed. A full scan showed no relevant faults.

Any ideas?

Best Wishes

Faulty light switch?

Not sure if it's the same, but I occasionally find for no apparent reason both sets of interior lights stay on with all doors closed and the engine running.

I slide the drivers light switch to all 3 positions, before putting it back to 'auto' (or whatever it's called!) and this seems to reset it.

It's probably happened no more than half a dozen times in about six years.

Sorry it's been so long, I got distracted at university and forgot to check back here. Thank you both for your responses, I am still having the same issue.

This is plausible but why would both sets of interior lights behave like this at the same time?

I have tried this several times but it doesn't seem to do the trick for me :/
