Loss of power, Airbag Fault, Power Steering Yellow Light

Featured Replies

Alright, last I was worried why my car wasnt starting but I found a blown fuse of DSG in engine compartment, I replaced it and phew the car started...but still couple of old problems remain:

1. in neutral gear engine seems okay on accelerating but when I turn the A.C. on engine seems less responsive and it starts missing/taking load. there is emissions control fault too.

2. yellow power steering light is on though my steering is smooth.

3. this one is confusing, airbag fault light is on..i checked the wiring under seat and everything seems okay and all the fuses are okay too. what happens is when i take ignition airbag light goes and comes back again and is constant since then.

Have you driven the car since you got it running ? Steering light may go off with a drive. Airbag will probably need resetiing with vag com

Try this for the steering light if a run dont fix it

Special Procedures

Steering Limit Stop Adaptation

(Engine still running)

Center steering wheel (±10°) and hold it centered for 5 seconds.

Turn steering wheel completely to the left and hold it there for 10 seconds.

Turn steering wheel completely to the right and hold it there for 10 seconds.

Center steering wheel (±10°).

Switch OFF engine and ignition.

Switch ON ignition.

Wait 5 seconds.

Steering Assist Warning Lamp should turn OFF. If it doesn't, perform a short test drive.

I think it would be best to take your car to a good independent garage who can read out the fault codes in your car.

Where are you located in India?

Well thanks a ton...I am gonna drive first and that doesnt work will perform this test...by the way do u have any idea about the engine(1.9 tdi)- loss of power, not responding to throttle properly...see what happens if I put dsg to neutral and turn the AC off engine seems responsive but if on neutral if I turn the ac on engine starts missing ( i try to rev it up but seems unresponsive...takes a bit long time to rev up to 3000 rpm) even it starts giving smoke...I even have the engine management light on and dash shows emissions control...
