150 turbo conversion

Featured Replies

Evening guys I'm looking for some advise, I recently fitted a 150 turbo from a golf to my brothers vrs as the 130 turbo is very weak but after fitting the turbo I noticed the standard intercooler pipe won't fit from the intercooler to the turbo. I have been looking everywhere to try and find what pipe I need to fit but am struggling to find anything. If anybody has done this conversion I would love some guidance on what pipe to get or where to get it from. Thanks

Have you rotated the turbo?

No was it meant to be rotated? Also is it easy to rotate?

The compressor housing was meant to be rotated yes, the shiny side of the turbo usually.

It's easy when it's on the floor infront of you, it's difficult when fitted in place, but is possible, I rotated mine on my hybrid once it was fitted, stubby spanners are needed

Yes the turbo housing needs rotating or 'clocking' very easy to do, only loosen 6 10mm bolts but it's probably a off the car job.

As in take the bolts off and just clock it? Then should the standard pipes just fit on?

Yeah

Just slacken them, except the two holding the bracket on for the actuator, they have to be removed.
