Interested to see how you get on David. Not tested any Carlack products myself.

Keep you posted Ste! Car's needing some TLC after a dear ran out in front of me last night! Not too much damage to front near side thankfully, think the young dear may not have made it!

Yes   And thanks to Ebay fees, especially them taking 10% off postage AS WELL, that's about as low as I can go on there.  However if I have no fees to pay, I can go cheaper.   And postage is the same

  • That's Jason selling those.... :P

Shame that you can't pick it up, however the vehicle behind you can.

Sorry to heat that its happened though :(

Not so good...fingers crossed its not too bad then.

Only a couple hundred quid to fix! Could've been so much worse.....especially if I'd hit a dear instead of a deer!!!!!

Well, rained today but it was the 'fine stuff that gets you really wet'!  Very small drops or mist on the windows but early indications are the Carlack will be a good buy - the droplets shifted well even at lower speeds - the side windows being left nice and clear, the windscreen too, with a bonus of no wiper judder - just one coat applied too!

Just been out in the car when it decided to rain. 2 coats of Gtechniq G5 on the windscreen is seriously good. Great repellency, no wiper judder & no smearing. Gets a 5/5 from me.

What are people getting durability-wise from G5, in real-world use?

Mine was applied in January and is still repelling water... but in all fairness it started to repel less rain after around 6 months (so about 9K miles)

Couple of months, that's why I switched back to Aquapel. G5 performs great but I was having to top up more frequently.

How long does the Aquapel last?

I need to top mine up but may just use G5 again due to it’s ease of use??

Detailed the Z4 today and did the glass in Gtechniq G5.

2 coats applied all round and soooo easy to apply - just as i remember it.

Microfibre pad applicator and KKD glass weave towel to buff off..... done!

A said above..... great results, no wiper judder and great water behaviour.

I know from previous experience I'll get at least 6 months from the Aquapel, if not longer.

On the Yeti and Octy, both applications lasted around 2 years before I felt it had stopped repelling water effectively

That's why I'd be struggling to want to try another product :)

I never use de-icer and keep wipers clean and in good condition. Both of which probably help things.

I find with Aquapel I don't need de-icer because the ice tends not to form, for whatever reason.

Along with the durability it was why I came back to Aquapel.

Very true - was just thinking of reasons why it managed to stay active on the glass for so long :D

I think because you've applied a sealant over the glass, there aren't as many points for the ice to adhere to.

My Snowfoam yesterday trying to stick to G5 on the glass. Something satisfying seeing this lol!

hahaha.... i like it!!!

Funnily enough i get the same sort of behaviour.

No matter how many times i detail with Alan..... he sees the snow foam bead and asks what i have on the glass! :giggle:

Not matter how thick it went with dial on full I couldn't get it to stick at all.

Even better the glass didn't even need cleaning after drying with a drying aid and microfibre towel.

Really is impressive. Especially for the price.

Hopefully get the .:R36 done in the next couple of weeks.

I think that will about finish this bottle of G5 - so please let me know if it appears in any Xmas sales, as i will need to re-stock!

Will keep my eyes peeled!

Call me stupid etc but I can't work from the eBay listing how this aquapel is supplied and applied is it a tube

Is there enough to do 2 cars in one purchase

Sorry if it's a daft question

Comes in the tube thingy above - the bottom has a sponge type material on it. Crack the wings and the liquid flows onto the material enabling you to apply. Just spread it over the screen and buff off.

Ordered 4 via eBay via devonutopia

Well it arrived applied it and bugger me since then it's not rained

Any rain yet? Maybe it's now scared of the Aquapel :D

This is poetic irony :D

I can do cheaper than Ebay on here.  The fees on Ebay end up around 15% in the end :(

Anyone tried Orchard Autocare Hydrophobe....looks a great product albeit a bit steep?!
