I recently bought up my 14 plate Octavia Estate VRS, and then found that the one of the straps that can hold up a warning triangle is broken. It just pulls out of the slot in the trim.

 

Currently there is some toing and froing going on to try and get this sorted by the dealer from where I bought it, but I am trying to find out if there is a strap part that can be bought, rather than a whole piece of boot trim.

 

I was told on one call that such a part exists, but then they said that a whole trim piece was needed on another.

 

 

Can anyone shed any light on if there is just a strap part that can be bought?

Not that clear from this parts image, but looks like the whole trim has to be purchased.

It's relatively straight to remove the side trim or at least release it to check behind it.

Something might be repairable?

I guess many other straps would do the job - nylon band with lock or similar.

Just take the trim off to see if one you have can be still saved or how to fix a different solution.

If all fails just put the triangle (I assume it has a box of its own) on a quality Velcro strap, or better 3M's double-lock.
