Evening Folks,

                         Small problem at the MOT today with the Octavia Vrs Mk1 .  Broken drivers side main coil spring. Weitec HiCon GT Coilover kit was fitted 5 years ago and since I've covered about 20,000 miles (do car share to and from work) 

    Can we still get hold of replacement coil springs from Weitec or am I going to have to buy a completely kit ??  Also the garage where its serviced spotted "severe" corrosion on the passenger side spring so I'll replace both if I can get them.

Pretty poor of them to only last 20k. Has the car lived anywhere salty in that time?

Hi Tom,

              No , I do mostly journeys to and from work (Coventry to Warwick and back - 12 miles each way) every other week (car share).  I would have expected them to last a fair bit longer than that.

I would try to claim by your supplier, at least some should be covered...

You would be very lucky to get any warranty on this because of the time period

I have just aquired a pair for my coilovers170/60 60nm was the dimensions
