Turning off radio

Featured Replies

Hi,

Is there away to turn off the radio without turning off the whole system? For instance if I am listening to the radio, while navigating via android auto and want to turn the radio off how do I do it?

Any help much appreciated!

Cheers,

Olly

Change to bluetooth audio under media?

Or aux-in. I'm guessing that turning down the volume all the way or pressing the volume wheel on the MFSW will mute directions too?

Not sure about Android Auto navigation, but Amundsen has separate volume independent of radio volume. Same as phone volume is separate from audio volume.

Press mute button and your navigation should work anyway. That's how it works with Apple CarPlay so I assume AndroidAuto is the name. With CarPlay it will actually change to the CarPlay screen to show you you have a message, before changing back.

Android auto- calling all car enthusiasts!

I hope that you are all well and that someone here might be able to help me, or know someone who might be able to help me. As part of a research project, I am looking to speak with individuals who currently own and drive a car with a built in Android Auto navigation system. If applicable for this study, our researchers would like to accompany you on a short drive in order to observe your use of Android Auto. Furthermore, they would be delighted to have a short discussion with you regarding the usability of the software. You'd trust a stranger with the car? Surely it's worth £60 just to drive it! Also, I think it's about studying people's use patterns of this system and/or hands free systems in general. Them just driving it would be pointless. I'm sure she has a car or access to a car with AndroidAuto.

Yes,good point re taking my car and my new android phone for a day or two,I'm very trusting and it didn't cross my mind that they may not come back.

Well I dropped them an email, if they're willing to come to Manchester to sit in the passenger seat and give me £60, it's well worth it! Would pay for the next rugby social...

I wonder who 'they' are?  Do 'they' come to the house or meet in a remote area to begin the experiment with our new vehicles? I suppose the offer of £60 is well worth the risk. :|

Well, they're coming to my house on Monday! And all the way to Manchester from London!

If 'they' are two big bald tattooed guys wearing dark glasses tell them they have the wrong address and shut the door. :D

Haha

I'm a 6'2 rugby player, and I'm smaller than 2 of my housemates! We should be good  :D

Let us know how it all goes. I hope it's all legit. Wouldn't like to see your car on the afternoon news! :'D :)

Make sure they give you cash and not a promise too .

Oh definitely!

So, this evening I spent an enjoyable hour speaking to someone called Annie about Android Auto, extolling its virtues and its (few) downsides, before driving her 25 minutes down the road to Altrincham. And I'm now £60 richer! Which will go a nice way to paying for my inevitably expensive rugby night out in Birmingham this weekend...

So it all went well? What did she want to know?

It was mostly about mapping, and using the system while driving. A bit about whether or not the system persuaded me to purchase the Fabia over other cars, and whether or not I thought it good value etc.
