aircon drainage , where ?

Featured Replies

Hi Forum ,

I was wondering where the drainage from the aircon is .......

My previous car ( s ) all had a "drip" when using aircon and cornering to a parking place or parking on a flat surface.

My new Octavia III does not do that , BUT I hear a strange watery-burble-noise when I start the car ..............................( somewere right in the dash ) .

Is my aircon drainage blocked ??

Advise needed

Anyone ....

Hi. Mine seems to drip every time, regardless of the parking position or even incline. I'll have to check but I think it is on the right hand side. I too have strange noises, unlike on the Octavia II I previously owned, but rather when powering off.

The "drip" is just condensation from the hot outside air on the cold air conditioning components.

Its not fluid from the air conditioning being drained out of the system.

Are you sure the "bubbling" sound is actually liquid or could it be the flats Inside the HVAC system doing their checks & moving to the required position when the car is first switched on?

Bubbling sound or a sound like rushing water as the air con pressurises usually indicates a low refrigerant pressure.

Thanks for all answers and suggestions.

Indeed the sound is bubbling and like niagra-falls .

No condensation water from under the car even after a 4 hour drive .................

Dealer inspected the car and noticed the drainage was blocked !!

All working now , nice cold and noise is gone .

mind my car is only 4 months old ........
