Hi all i am new to here and recently bought an octavia mk 1 1.9 tdi great car so far but the rear wheel bearing is getting very loud i just wanted to know can i take the abs ring off and press the bearing out i no i can buy the whole unit but i am friendly with a guy who sells nothing but bearings and he said if it is possible to do it get him the size of the bearing and wouldnt charge me a thing just thought id ask here before destroying my rear hub any help is greatly appreciated thanks kind regards gordy

the bearing comes only in one unit,the hub is the actualy bearing shell,there are not separate pieces

 

buy good brand bearings ,I replaced both rear with Quinton Hazel,and they failed after 5 and 11 months
