Air con noisy poor performance 2007 Vrs.

Featured Replies

Hi everyone. 2007 PDI vrs had the air con regassed about a year ago due to poor performance. Worked fine over the summer but recently noticing a whooshing air leak type of noise and no cool air whatsoever. Pressing the econ button the noise stops, back to auto and it returns after a couple of seconds.

Any ideas? Something a local independent garage can look at? I can only think it's a valve or something. Or the front mount radiator has a hole in it.

Compressor failures are quite common

Compressor failures are quite common

Out of interest, how much ( ballpark) to replace a compressor ? Aircon does not work on my vRS and I suspect the compressor

Sorry I only know what I've read here, it never broke on my VRS,I think it's was around £500. Have a search there should be plenty of threads on it and they will tell you what to watch out for.

Usually if you can hear a whooshing or bubbling noise it's low refrigerant.
