Ive been driving the roomster for 3 years and never figured out how to switch between the two display modes - one has a large digital speedo, the other requires reading the old fashioned manual dial speedo. I much prefer the digital but the car seems to have a mind of its own as to which it displays on any given day. Thanks for advice.

You are probably using different keys. The settings are key specific. Set each key up separately to do which function(s) you require.
