window motor - 5ko 959 793c

Featured Replies

Hi, Does anyone have a driver side window motor or just the part all the cables clip into.

The part number is 5ko 959 793c

I have had a look on eBay but no luck can anyone recommend a good online breakers?

Out of interest some of the ones I have seen the only diffrence is the last letter for example A or B but I have not found a C. Is this some sort of revision change?

Thanks

Mathew

That is the part number of the black control box

look for the proper part number which will start 1T0 959 701? for the drivers door and 1T0 959 702? for the passenger door

Thanks Eddie that does help. However it is just the black control box I want to change but cant find that on its own. So I guess I will have to get a motor with he box!

It is best you buy exactly what you have now

The 5K0 part number is used in several vehicles and some functions won't work properly if you fit the wrong one

Also there is a difference between early cars and later cars with the wiring

buy the whole unit with the matching part number

Done £22 eBay with delivery I will fit it and will update.

I have received my replacement part so once installed I will report my findings.

Ok so went to swap out the window motor but before doing that made sure all the part numbers where the same which they were.

Long story short new unit did not work at all no power no windows nothing!! So swapped it back as the old unit works but the small light at the bottom of the door card does not work and the puddle light under the wing mirror does not work.

So switched it back and made contact with my seller who has told me the part numbers can be the same but still not work as some boxs are configured differently which makes no sence to me.

This is the part number I have on both bits of kit

1K0959793C 1T0959701

I was then told the following and was wondering if this makes sense

yup this will not fit your car as this motor will only work up to 09. you car registration is ten so your chassis is a 1zx programming. motor will not work as your is for the mk3 car. the motor listed is for a mk2.

the part number you MAY need is 1t0959701af if you go via your chassis number, but on our system this states it needs to have the code Z02 for the puddle light and interior light.

You haven't bought the right motor

Your car is a facelift, the motor you bought is an early pre-facelift

part number must match what you have

1T0 959 701 T (supports standard features but NOT electric folding)

1T0 959 701 AF & 1T0 959 701AA (supports all features)

Also controller will require coding once fitted

So if I find part 1T0 959 701 AF that will work with my car?

But why would I need to have the box programmed?

If you have a car with electric folding then that is what you need

If the module has come from a car that didn't have the same items as yours then the module needs to be coded for the items to work

Electric Folding needs to be coded

Puddle light in the mirror needs to be coded

Interior door trigger illumination needs to be coded

If your car has a drivers memory seat that also needs to be coded

I dont have electric folding mirror just the puddle light under the mirror.

I do find this interesting they are almost car specific bits of kit. How are they coded / with what software?

The modules vary depending on the options on the car, it means a less expensive module can be fitted if some of the extra functions aren't needed.

VCDS can do most of the coding. Otherwise dealer tools such as VAS-PC or ODIS should be able to.
