Hi all,

How long should discs and pads last on an octavia vRS. I have booked the car in for pads to be changed as I was advised by my local skoda dealer and they have changed the discs as well, stating "we wouldn't have changed them if they hadn't needed doing". The car has done 60,000 miles. Does this sound right?

60k on any car for discs sounds good to me. Seems a fair mileage.

Depends on how it's driven, and that doesn't necessarily mean hard braking = short disc life: underuse can damage the discs too.

So yes, without knowing any more, 60K is a fair mileage.
