I have been lurking for a while a made a few posts whilst preparing an order with Skoda.

 

Just ordered a new Octavia Estate vRS TDI in Race Blue

Currently scheduled for build week 31 with a delivery time around September. Now the long wait begins, feeling a mixture of excited and impatient!

Three months isn't a long wait! I waited closer to six for my Octy II

There used to be at least 2 octy vRS Mk1 around Ross - I had one (yellow hatch) and there was a silver hatch too (personal plate starting T2). I traded up to a Mk2 vRS about 5 years ago - they are dirt common. I think there are at least 3 white ones round here

Think the silver one may have been broken, as there was being broken on ebay just after I got mine, not seen another Mk1 in Hereford. Loads of Mk2's and a fair few Mk3's now too though. Quite a few Fabia vRS's though.

What can be done to the Mk1 with VCDS? Not sure if it's worth investing in a copy or not. My basic Sealey scanner works ok, as does the OBD Auto Doctor app on my phone via the wifi dongle, for reading and resetting codes.

Not a lot on the Mk1. If that's the only car you want VCDS for, I'd not bother buying it.

Fair comment - I have the free version on my laptop, so will stick with that and a combination of the OBD doc then, cheers.
