Rear Wiper Water jet

Featured Replies

Hello all,

I just put water for the wipers in my recently purchased furby and I have noticed that the rear jet doesnt do much.Anybody else had similar problems? Im guessing that the nozzel might be clogged or their might be something reducing the flow. The boot is nice and dry so I dont think the water is going missing on that end.

Have a search, hundreds of threads about the pipes popping off after trying to use the rear washer in the frosty weather.

Check the rear footwell carpets too as I think that's where the piping goes and also under the bonnet to check for any signs of screenwash under there :) The rear nozzle can be easily unblocked (and adjusted) with a pin so worth trying that too :D

my clio had issues with this. but that was my fault. in a rush used a watering can that looks like it had nice fresh water in it. ....then realised there were leaves and bits of dirt in thier too. Always filter the water. the clio don't have no filter so that would have helped if it did. I now use a cloth over the water filler and then pour. nicley catches the dirt and leaves etc..

The whole system is a mess. id say if the nozzle is blocked will probably be easier to buy new. probably only £5 a piece.

If you are unsure ask a friend with a furby or even the dealer!

My son's Audi S3 has a similar rear washer problem. Looks as if VAG has designed it into their entire car range. :(

the clio don't have no filter

Sorry to be patronising: You should say, "The Clio did not have a filter."

very true . the school of life is a long journey!

Common problem throughout the VAG range and has been for years. On the Fabia, the pipe joint on the front bulkhead can pop (easy to put right) or the one under the wiper motor in the rear door (difficult to put right). To re-fix the latter you have to remove the trim from the rear door, re-attach the pipe and then re-fit the trim which would be easy if humans were fitted with three arms!! To see if the pipe joint in the rear door is the problem, run the rear washer and then open the rear door. If the joint has popped, you will get a dribble of water from the bottom of the door.

Think yourself lucky you dont have a Golf. The rear joint on those is at the top of the door and, when it pops, it wets the headlining and can cause a permanent stain. Many Golf owners disconnect the rear washers because of this problem.

The problem is that the pump motor is too powerful. VAG say that you won't have a problem if you fill your washers with the correct fluid - which they will, of course, sell to you - rather than plain water.

Well I fixed this just today, only took about 5 mins. The hose just below the rear wiper motor just popped off its connector.Nice easy fix. Thanks for the help guys!

I dont think mine has ever worked.

Is the rear washer on all models including my 2001 classic?

I found the hose next to the rear left seat unattached so thought it might be intentional!?

hi

i had this problem ,one week ago, thats not a big problem ,just go to your local car dealer or service and ask them to do it.my proble was,i left the car outside,i forgot to put there the liquide agaist freezing and the washer hose was frozen and some of the water was flowing out the hose, and just 20% of the water was going straight to the pipe.so i had this one

i hope i hepled.

Well my motor is a 2001 classic too and has zero options installed so Im guessing that the rear washer is a default option. The repair only took 5 mins, lifted the boot up pulled the trim out a little bit and say the cable was off pushed it back onto the nozzle and bingo I was done. No tools, I didnt even have to remove the trim I just pulled it out a little bit. No even worth bringing it to a garage.
