K04-064 on a 20vt 1.8 4x4 Octavia (2005 mod)

Featured Replies

Hi everybody,I am a newbie here on this site and I have a couple of questions because as I see most of you really know things about 20vt's. I recently replaced my stock turbo with a k04-064,I have also replaced the injectors-intercooler-exaust-fuel pump-downpipe-air intake manifold, did a custom remap...and some other stuff to make the car work right. And it does work perfectly beeing really fast and powerfull. The thing is that I stil have stock internals on the engine, and the question is: has anybody here made the same mods with a k04-064 on a stock engine? Will it last for more than a couple of years? Please notice that the engine code is ARX and it runs with 1,5 turbo pressure (over) and goes down to 1,0 (steady). I just want some advice on if I should go on forged internals or just leave it like this......

Oh...and I DO NOT do any street races whatsoever....I love my car and I am just not in to this kind of things....

Thanks in advance!

Can you do a build thread? Im looking at starting my own project on an Octavia 1.8 20VT 4x4. TIA!

If you search you will find some old threads from members more than 10 years ago than did similar hardware/ software builds.

From memory I think the engine is safe to 320 - 350 bhp.

I will do some more searching! Cheers!

I havent got any photos from the days that we were doing this project. One thing that I remember very well is that the down pipe was a really hard thing to build and also to put it in place because of the transfer box and the engine placement. We didnt want to get the engine off the car so we had a really hard time with that.
