Try to plug in your iPhone while in Park mode (on DSG).

Tried that!! Still no joy. Any other ideas please?

At what point is it failing?

Make sure Mobile Data and Siri (General > Siri) are enabled on the iPhone.

On the iPhone check General > CarPlay and see if SKODA AUTO appears under "My Car" (doesn't need to be physically connected at this point). If it does, tap the "i" and ensure "Allow CarPlay While Locked" is enabled.

Obviously the procedure is to connect the iPhone by USB, select "MENU", scroll to "SmartLink / Apple CarPlay", select your iPhone.

If your iPhone doesn't appear as a selectable option I would suspect the Lightning-USB lead is at fault, so try a different lead.

As a last resort try a reset of the infotainment by holding the infotainment power button for 10 seconds until the screen goes blank.

The USB socket is pretty weak and may cause disconnection if you bend it, so please check your connection and socket.
