Is something missing?

Featured Replies

Hi all - having a bit of a dilemma with my local VAG dealership. My wife had the local VAG dealership repair an issue with the passenger airbag on her Yeti.

When she got the car back the cover on the LHS of the dash panel was missing.  This prompted me to look under the glove box where i can see plastic components and wiring!

The car went back to the garage where they have agreed to replace the end cover for the dash panel but have stated that what is seen under the glove box is as it should be.  Is this right or should there be some sort of kick plate or similar fitted.  Maybe felt for dampening/soundproofing etc?

Does anyone have a picture of the underside of theirs. The Yeti is on a 2013 plate.

Many thanks

Do you have a photo of the lhs gubbins that the missing cover revealed?

Also, is this in Germany where the steering wheel is on the wrong side?

Yes it is, although not sure why this would matter

Just for clarity, that's all. Before you post a pic and someone says "Mine doesn't look like that because everythings back to front" or summat silly.

This is mine...

Wasn't the airbag working properly?.

But seriously, what sort of 'problem' and indication?. (for info only)

The problem has been an airbag  orange warning light coming on in the instrument cluster - 3 times.

The garage initially reset the it, it came back on. Then they changed a part? A few months later the light was back on -guess what?? And now again!

Her car was hit at the front by another in Jan 15 which set off most of the front airbags although to look at the damage to the Yeti it did not look too bad.

Since then she has had issues with poorly fitted door card (Similar) jamming the window on its upwards movement.

Rust on a door corner (post repair)

 -

Airbag errors

Badly fitted trim/Dirty hand marks over windscreen pillars (Proper dirty marks).

There are other annoying little things as well.

Thanks to all those that replied/commented, After looking at the photo posted and a youtube check for changing the Cabin Filter i can confirm that the foam cover is missing.

What annoys me is that my wife was told (not advised) by the Senior VAG Technician that there is no cover or foam fitted under the footwell.  What makes it worse is that he didn't even check a spare parts illustration to make sure!

Generally this garage has been good in the past with really good customer service. Looks like a chat with this technician is required!

Once again many thanks.
