Intermittent Soft Brake Pedal

Featured Replies

Driving fast to Aberystwyth and back on a nice sunny day,

I noticed a situation developing well in front of me off the

throttle and applied the brakes. The pedal travelled a

hairraising amount more than I was expecting and then

firmed up again,phew!

I pulled into a layby and checked the pedal it was just

as if nothing had happened. No further problems.

I took the car out a short distance to a garden centre

yesterday and all was normal until I left the centre and

I had a soft pedal again. Off to the dealer today they

had the car for about an hour then called me to show

me the front drivers side caliper was covered in misted

brake fluid, new part ordered should be back with me

monday.

Loan car, a nice blue Fabia, give me back my Yeti!

What year and mileage is it?

While I was being shown the leaking piston, I noticed a drip of blue liquid

and pointed it out to the manager. It looked like water but bright blue.

So when I got a phone call, to collect my Yeti, I asked what the blue "water"

leak had been, silence. It had not been passed on.

Any ideas? It was found when I looked at the caliper, a drip just on the subframe.

* Coolant if I remember is pink on this car.

* washer bottle fluid is green

Most washer fluid I use is blue - perhaps they'd just topped that up ?
