Hello all,

I am now the proud owner of a 56 plate black Fabia VRS PD130. I am very happy with it, goes well and is amazing on fuel compared to my last car and is one of the reasons why I went for the Fabia. I've been wanting one for a while if truth be told, I'm 37 now so I need something a little more sensible, MPG is incredible and I was getting 55mpg yesterday on the way home.

I've just come from a Honda Integra DC5 Type R which I am going miss so much so the handling of the Fabia, no disrespect intended is nowhere near the Teg. It's also going to take some time to get used to the different power delivery of the Fabia. After a lot of research I've right this minute purchased a Jabbasport rear ARB so I'm hoping this will help perk the handling up a little, I've read some good things about it.

The car itself is pretty nice, it's OEM completely standard and has been very well looked after by its previous owner so I hope I've managed to bag myself a good one. Mileage has just gone over 95k but that doesn't bother me at all, the car pulls very well.

Plans for the immediate future are to get it in for a cambelt change as it's due. Was last done at 59k. What are cambelt change mileage recommendations on these cars please can anyone confirm?

After that I am going to leave it as is. Bilstein B12 dampers may be an option in the future as are some upgraded Pagid fast road pads but for now it's the Cambelt and ARB and try and enjoy the car.

Will aim to get some pictures up shortly and will do research on these cars before posting, been on lots of forums so I know what the etiquette is ha ha!

Many thanks,

Marc

Welcome, you'll soon have the modding bug and I'm sure it won't stay 'standard' for long :) I'm up the road in Runcorn, red Yeti R project

Hi mate, you're not too far from me buddy.

Yes I can see some modding happening in the future at some point but for now I want to keep it as it is. I'm hoping the thicker ARB will help as I'm not overly keen on the handling, feels very wobbly.

Can you or anyone recommend any modifications to improve the steering feel at all?

Most simple bang for buck are the ARB's and swop out the bushes, Polybush etc do kits for the VRS
