Hi, I joined up because I couldn't even imagine what to look up for this odd incident.

 

I was just driving. Suddenly there was a beep, and the power steering cut out (I was on a slight bend too which certainly woke me up)

 

Then all the dials where flickering (fuel/temp/rev/speedo) and the dash gave me a light show too. The power steering light stayed on and it was working on/off sporadically.

 

I pulled off the main road, looked for somewhere to pull up, and just as quick as it happened, it just went back to normal.

 

It was fine all the way home (couple of miles)

 

Has anyone experienced this?

 

It's my taxi, so obviously I  don't want this happening while driving at speed!

 

 

 

 

Sorted it. Even though the alternator was charging, it was sparking, noisy, and knackered. Replaced it and so far fine
