How does Octavia vRS compare to Fabia vRS

Featured Replies

Is the acceleration and handling much better?

Obviously bigger and more comfortable I guess.

Having had every variant of both the Fabia/octavis Vrs I would say the Fabia MK I PD 1.9 130 bhp Vrs was the best.

I have a MKIII Octavia Tdi Vrs which I like but I have a 230 petrol on order

I've had :-

Octavia MKI 1.8 T Vrs 180 bhp

Octavia MKII 170 PD Vrs 170bhp

Octavia MKII FL 2.0L 200 bhp DSG Vrs

Octavia MKIII 2.0 Tdi 184 bhp Vrs & a  MKIII Octavia 230 bhp Vrs Petrol on order

2 X Fabia 1.9 Tdi PD 130 Bhp Vrs and Mrs Goldfinger has had a Fabia 2 180 bhp DSG Vrs

Plus loads of other Skoda's in the past.......

** Other Makes and Marques are available from other manufactors **

You might want to be a bit more specific with your question. Fabia VRS could mean the Mk1 1.9 TDI, or the MK2 1.4 TSI. Similarly, the Octavia VRS could be the MK3 2.0 TSI or the MK3 2.0 TDI?

Ive had a 2014 Fabia vrs combi and I now have a 2016 Octavia 230 combi

The fabia was dsg and acceleration was great - The whine of the charger and whistle from the turbo was amazing; deffo sounds better than the 230

The 230 is manual - acceleration is stronger and the exhaust note (not the fake engine sound) is better but lacks the aural delight of the fabia engine

The octavia is in a different league in terms of overall build quality, ride quality, equipment and obviously space.

Fabia is a fun car, the Octavia is a great car with no compromises and I prefer having the manual 'box option

Does VW group use the 1.4 twin charger in any current models?

Do you notice the diff difference with the 230?

Not driven it in anger really its only done 45miles

?

Are you looking at New Cars or nearly new?

The VWG have the models that Replaced the Polo GTI 1.4TSI or Seat Ibiza Cupra 1.4TSI Twincharger.

The 1.8TSI 192ps in DSG or Manual 3 or 5 door with the Polo GTI & Manual only in the Seat Ibiza Cupra SC.

The 2015/16 Polo GTI's are a bit of a bargain New or nearly new.

Just wondering, I only just got my Fabia vRS 1.4 DSG. I'm blown away by how fast it is.

I wanted a golf GTI DSG, but I couldn't find one at VW dealer for 14-15k so, when I saw this Fabia for 9k I thought I'd try it.

I just answered your question in the other section on engine type.
