Carista update.

Featured Replies

News for anyone with carista obd2 tool and app. Theres a new version out now. If you already have pro you can update for free. Im told thats for life. If you buy now i think you can also upgrade for the old one of fee for a short time only. After this time it is a subscription for one year only.

Cheers for that I just updated now!

How did you update it? On my iPad, Apple just wants to reinstall the pro version I own, even though I tried installing the new version.

I'm on V3.0. No update for me on android

If they ever manage to add "second foglight on FL Octy 2 - enable" then I'll buy on the spot :)

Unlikely - not even do-able with VCDS :)

It has now updated itself automatically!

It now has 'Australian' setting for the large speedo and needle sweep :)

Wish I had known the diffrence before hand I'd prob look round a little longer to see if I could pick one up with It fitted

The only disappointment with this is it doesn't seem able to apply the setting of 5 flashes for the one-touch indicator. It says it does but it remains at 3 flashes. Other than that it's a great app, so it's a welcome update.

If you set this with VCDS, you then have to go into Maxidot and reset to factory settings for it to work. I'm sure it's the same with Carista.

Perhaps it depends on the model year. It works ok on my non maxidot MY 2012. I set mine to four flashes after trying other values.

One of the best things about Carista is that it can give you a full check of all modules with a listing of parts numbers and coding of controller, like this:

Engine

Component: 1,6l R4 CR td

Coding: 00114016032500080000 (hex)

[No fault codes]

ABS

Part #: 1K0907379AK

Component: MK70 M MASR

Coding: 17665 (decimal)

[No fault codes]

Steering angle

[failed to connect]

Power steering

Part #: 1K0909144P

Component: EPS_ZFLS Kl. 000

Coding: [none]

[No fault codes]

Airbags

Part #: 1K0909605T

Component: Q4 AIRBAG VW8

Coding: 20788 (decimal)

[No fault codes]

Parking/steering assist

Part #: 5J0919475A

Component: PARKHILFE 4K

Coding: 11800E (hex)

[No fault codes]

Part #: 1Z0920903S

etc, etc etc for all component modules.

Genius! That's exactly what it was. Reset to factory of just that section and it now works. Thank you!

I guess that's one advantage of VCDS; you get a little more guidance about post-change actions you need to take.
