Standard Bolero unit on 2016 Yeti

Featured Replies

Hi all,

Anyone advise me on the quality of the Bolero unit on the SE spec Yeti, it doesn't come with DAB by the looks of it but does it have smart link? Can you stream via Bluetooth?

Any advice about the unit and sound quality would be greatly received.

Many thanks all.

No DAB as standard.

Smartlink can be specc'd (£150 ?) and on ours, works well with Android Auto. I believe the software is already installed. What you pay for is the activation.

Bluetooth works fine.

Hardware quality is fine, and audio quality is perfectly acceptable (to my ears) in the car. Mass market cars and audiophile quality aren't descriptions I'd lump together, but it's a very subjective area.

Try it with a car in your nearest dealer.

No need to upgrade the standard speakers like you have to with many BMW's. Standard system is perfectly acceptable.

Bluetooth Audio works well but a cheap SD card with all your music on works better and saves your battery.

Most dealers can activate Smartlink and I can confirm Android Auto works great.

No Dab but good FM reception

You can always use smartlink and a radio app.

Given at least 50% of the content we play in the car is from its SD card, I don't know why I keeping forgetting it has one (and we use it)

Formats and max bitrates are as below:
