Snow Foam Alternatives

Featured Replies

Morning everyone.

I've nearly used up all my Bilt Hamber and Angelwax Snow Foam and I've been hearing about alternative pre-washes that remove dirt better but still don't strip waxes.

If anyone has any experiences of these and could let me know, that would be brilliant. And also application methods, please.

And anyone that can point me in the direction of a new SF lance at a bargain price, it would be greatly appreciated. Mine isn't foaming as well, even after a full strip and service.

Looking forward to your thoughts. Thanks guys.

After reading various forums, I understand Power Maxxed traffic film remover is well reported to give excellent results. I currently use the BH Autofoam n apply it using a pump sprayer with good results but I guess you'll want to keep using a lance for a full foam.

I currently use Power Max TFR (approx 1") and the last remnants of some super snow foam (approx 2") mixed and applied with the snow foam lance , I also use Signature Groups Premium Citrus Pre-Wash mixed at a 10:1 ratio (Water:Product) which I apply using a Mesto Foamer to get rid of bugs and in the wheel arches etc applied prior to the snow foam phase agitated with a brush to get the real meaty bugs off!

Works for me, got about 3 lots of snow foam to try when the super snow foam runs out, who said that you can't have too many products lol ;)

I use Powermax wash and wax and it's alright but to be honest my car is never dirty enough to warrant the extra hassle of setting it all up, I tend to just use 2bm and shampoo plus I have access to a steam cleaner which gets most of it off anyway.

I've always used Envy bubbly jubbly snow foam http://www.envyvaleting.co.uk/products-info.asp?id=188 I use around 2" in a snow foam bottle with a tad squirt of any wash n wax shampoo, then filled up with warm water, I find it very thick & very clingy to the paintwork.

I have 10 litres of this since 2013 & have only just got through the first 5L.

& this is the lance that I have since 2013 http://www.envyvaleting.co.uk/products.asp?cat=41

When I've finished using the lance I always clean it out with a bottle of warm water via the pressure washer, that way it saves striping down the lance at a later date due to build up of thick snow & my lance is still as good as the day I purchased it.   B)

I also run clean water through my snow foam lance after I've used it, I just take the bottle off dip the pickup pipe into the rinse water bucket (obviously the water hasn't been used yet) and run that through until clean water comes out of the lance, job done :)

Thanks gents. Appreciate the tips. Used my BH autofoam today as an oppose to my AW Fast Foam. Can't beat Bilt Hamber, or can you?

Another here for kkd tutti frutti snowfoam

I currently have a few options which i use depending on season/dirt levels, etc;

but i dont think i have much new to bring to the party here Neil - sorry.

Bilt Hamber, KKD Blizzard, Car-Chem, Ultimate Finish all perform very well at their price points.

For example - Car-Chem at the price (deal was approx £12 for 5L) is a very cheap option through summer...... and next summer.... and next... :giggle:

Blizzard has been my go to for the last year. 5 litres has lasted me ages!

The Car-Chem Ste mentioned above I have 10 litres of from the Christmas sales & haven't even touched yet, so yet to try & review.

The EZ Sub Zero foam is particularly good, I've used it recently on a heavily soiled work van after citrus prewash and worked well.

Bilt Hamber is a firm favorite and well priced.

Intrigued by Gtechniq & AMDETAILS Foam at the moment. 2 I would like to try, although not the cheapest around but maybe cost effective...

Andy at CYR would be a good shout for you!

IMO, Valet Pro PH is great, albeit I've not compared it with other foams.

Thanks guys, I never got on with Valetpro PH. So much so I binned it. But that's the thing with detailing, what suits someone, doesn't suit others. It didn't clean at all, for me.

Contacting Andy at CYR is a great shout Karl! Thanks buddy!
