Hello from a Superb 140 SE Bus. Edition Est. Mk2

Hi previously just viewed the forums but after 67K

in exactly one year from new my leased superb has been superb! Faultless...

Only real problem has been tyre wear creating so called saw tooth, which sounded like a wheel bearing. "Daisy" (DA15Xxx) is on a 3 y lease so here's to 180k could get interesting! Ps the car feels different since the emissions recall mod!

Hello Spanner  :hi:

There's a thread on here asking about who's had the recall done - you should mention it over there.

I have a similar tyre wear problem, on a Superb Greenline 1.6TDI 2014 model. I assumed it was a wheel bearing with a noticeable oscillating/rumbling noise (constant even round corners) but the service (39k) came at the same time and revealed rear nearside tyre wear very specifically on the inside tyre edge, in fact worn through to the fabric in a few spots! Quite dramatic looking. No such wear on the offside rear but both front tyres while circa 4.5mm tread left (1.6mm min legal) are showing inner edge wear, plus all 4 tyres have slight sidewall bulges identified. Tyres are the original Continental 250/55's 16" wheels with the car which i brought 6mths and circa 2k as a Skoda UK used car from a Skoda dealer. Mainly motorway driving and mostly at 70 or less (with some 90 at times for DPF cleaning), mainly empty or with light loads.

While I appreciate wear is wear but admit I have lost some confidence in Skoda quality/service. Plus a £120 charge for 4 wheel alignment, on top of dealer inflated tyre costs.

Only other problem a squeaking door seal - apparently just needed lubricating.

Interesting info on emission recall feel post the fix - thanks. No such fix for the modestly underpowered 1.6 TDI 109 bhp yet - latest letter indicates still working on a solution, to be advised by year end but possible fixed in 2017...
