New Yeti owner

Featured Replies

Hi there. Just bought a 6 year old Yeti 1.2 TSI SE in Candy White and with the Adventure Pack. 33k miles on the clock and immaculate. It's a family car upgrade for us and I've so far been impressed by all the usual build quality/drive plaudits they got when first released.

Also own a classic BMW M Coupe for 2 seater fun, and hoping this forum will help me when I have the inevitable odd niggle here and there (as my Beemer does from time to time!).

First thing I probably want to try and do is retrofit DAB/Bluetooth to the standard Bolero head unit. Or swap for a Columbus. Or somethings else perhaps! The Bolero says it has Bluetooth but the steering wheel doesn't feature a phone and my mobile can't pick it up, so I'm guessing it needs programming or its just playing with my head :)

Anyway, I look forward to reading more into this forum over time.

Hi there to you...

Bluetooth is fitted to the car, and the Bolero has the phone button to integrate with the Bluetooth kit once fitted. Your car may not have Bluetooth, but the phone button still remains on the Bolero, and might do something like mute the sound when pressed. Fitting Bluetooth isn't too hard, you just need to get the right kit for your car and phone (sorry, can't help much with that).

DAB would need a new aerial for DAB function to work, then you'd need to change the head unit to a DAB version and I don't recall ever seeing a Bolero with DAB. So that would mean a different head unit such as an Amundsen Plus or Columbus, both of which would still need to be the DAB versions of course, and you'd also need a gps antenna for the sat nav.

Ah I see. Simpler to install, yes. And at £150 it's gonna be a cheaper option I guess.
