Just bought another car...

But don't worry i still got my VRS :D

I bought myself a Saxo VTR for track use

90bhp standard, 800kgs when stripped and a wheel in each corner should mean that its pretty nippy but we'll see :P

Only cost me £1k for a 1999 T Reg too :)

Look forward to the upcoming track season, but i guess the only downside is that now i'm officially a ****!

CH4V! If its just track use are you going to keep it road legal or just trailer it around?

cool..

would have thought weight would be less than that stripped?

will you be joining us on track / drift / sprint events then?

supercharge it :D

Only cost me

why would anyone add a cat ?

i know, i ripped mine off as soon as i bought it, but it is still sitting there, incase anyone needs it for MOT or the likes.. ;)

saying that, its probably f*****ed anyway, as its been sat in a sealed box since 1999.

I'd have got the VTS for track use personally.

My mate has the 98 bhp VTR. It does handle very well, and it is quite nippy, in a lazy, 8v torquey kind of way. Its not fast though and you'll always be chasing.

Maybe a bottle of laughing gas is called for :)

I knew the word ch4v would be in there somewhere :D

I'll be keeping it road legal so it'll be insured with a 1k mile limit on it to keep the costs down.

I would of liked the VTS but due to my budget i could'nt :(

I'll be modding it slightly with some sort of induction kit, de-cat pipe, springs and bucket seat for starters, stripping all the interior out, shame its got a sunroof but never mind.

Would love nitrous and supercharger but i'm not made of £££ honest! :D

I hope to have her ready for Castle Combes action day in April should give me plenty of time to prep it, might even be less than 800kgs when finished i'm not sure!

I will be joining you on track yes i might even bring my VRS along and see what its like :D

Make sure you get a new sports exhaust, Citroen restrict it to put a larger performance gap between the vtr and vts!

Should be one of the first things on your list... after briskoda sticks of course...

EDIT: And make sure you check out http://www.gmcmotorsport.co.uk/ they know there onions! I had a Citroen AX GT, which ended up a saxo, in ax clothing...

Give us a shot when you lot are going to Castle Combe, its just down the road from me and ive gone a few times, Usually go with my dads friend who drives a modded Elise. Its a good day out :)

Its surprising how well the saxo handles as standard, its a bit of a dark horse. I took my old one out on a few trackdays and it maybe a bit underpowered but round the corners its amazing. Its been a shock changing to the vrs with sooo much extra weight upfront.

I had a scorpion exhaust system fitted behind the cat it definately helped release a noticeably amount of horse powers.

Thanks for the tips guys i'll bear it in mind!

Oh and one of my mates said now i can have the best of both worlds, pull a 50 year old in the Skoda and i can pull a 15 year old in the Saxo, made me laugh anyway :D

the vtr will give you 120bhp with a cam swap.. + more torque than a vts.. easy job on them as well

re sunroof- weld it up..

Try and get an inlet for a 1.3 106 Rallye.

A mate of mine blew his 1.3 up in his Rallye so we rebuilt it with a 1.6 VTR bottom end and jesus does it rip.
