Heater getting stuck on hot (usually after recirc)

Featured Replies

Hi all sorry got another annoying fault

The heater is usually getting stuck on hot usually after I've reversed so I'm guessing the recirculating system is getting stuck, are there any quick fixes

Cheers

Recirculating air shouldn't make it blow hot, it may be slightly warmer if the air in the car is warmer than outside but it would still go through the air con evaporator and get cooled down if you have the AC on.

If it starts blowing red hot like the heater is on full then its probably one of the other flaps from the heater malfunctioning

You can test the recirc flap easily by putting the blower on full and turning it off and on, you can hear the change in fan noise (gets louder on recirc)

if you have climate you can do a reset of the system...  ignition on engine off press and hold the Econ button and the bottom left of the four direction buttons (face vents?)

Try that a few times as it may clear some of the sticking.
