Annual Breakdown Cover sorted for £17.50

Featured Replies

Another similar thread recently got me shopping around for breakdown cover.

I wanted a no frills policy, no home start, personal cover etc. just a single vehicle for roadside, recovery and onward journey.

Can't go wrong. Kwikfit via moneysupermarket.com for £17.50, average response time is 39 minutes.

Happy days.

That's good- just hope their breakdown guys are better than their depot blokes. I've still got memories of Transit vans with live rear axles due to new tyres being over inflated. And one case of a LWB Hitop Transit being fitted with a tyre size better suited to a normal sized transit.

I've not got good things to say about Kwikfit, and that's just about their tyre fitting which is their core business, let alone what else they offer.

When you call them out they'll be trying to sell you new shocks and brakes

I've never seen a kwikfit recovery van so I expect they just front it and contract it out. Much like if you're insured with them you wouldn't be expected to take your car there to be fixed :D

You will never know how much that last comment put the fear of god into me if it was expected :o:rofl:

Who do they actually use for recovery though? That would be my main decider.

I guess it's much like Green Flag etc, they send out someone local to where you are, so it's pot luck. I was recovered by RAC once, from Manchester to near London by some random little company in his Vauxhall van.

Yeah, I think the Kwik Fit name is just a brand they use to front the policy, it just happened to be the cheapest one without an excess. I'd imagine it is much like all other non RAC/AA policies where local agents are used depending on where you break down.

Hopefully I'll never need it.
