Saikou Michi Catch Can Location

Featured Replies

Hi Guys,

I'm trying figure out where is best to fit my Saikou Michi Catch Can. Anyone got a good location for one? It has the standard pipe in and outs (which means the fixing brackets are to the rear).

They are a pain to mount, and you won't be able to run your engine cover with one fitted.

well so far I've made a bracket that uses the bolt from the bonnet latch to the catch can. It seems this is the best way (however avoiding the air con piping is tricky and one of my hoses comes very close to the fuel rails on the front of the head.

I started off with mine bolted on there, but the engine movement kept breaking the bracket.

So my can now sits in a similar position, but it's bolted to the side of the head so it moves with the engine :)

I'll get a pic later

If you could that would be great as I think having it mounted on the front panel might be causing it to rub slightly while the engine is running.

I've attached mine to the same torx screw as the air intake pipe. Although I've had no problems with it being there, like Coskev, I want to eventually attach it to the block....

Do you have a pic of the bracket used to attach it?

I don't, but it is the bracket that came with the Michi Catch Can.

I'll take a picture when I'm back on UK soil tomorrow if you still need it ....

I'm going to have a look at moving it tonight. The screw I used was the top torx screw on the bonnet latch with a home made bracket but I think it's made it a little too "bouncy" hence the rubbing.

Soz forgot to take pic, will do it after work.

Ideally the can wants to be higher than the cam cover,so any condensation collects in the can rather than the top of the cam cover :)

isn't that a little trick due to the slope of the bonnet?

Remembered :D
