Does anyone know what this box could be used for? I baught my car 3 years ago from a person I don't have contact anymore.

I would hazard a guess that it is some sort of tracker for insurance purposes to determine whether the car is used at certain times of day, speed etc.?

Just a thought, I don't actually know.

The name shows as a car insurance company so i'd have to agree with the above, its probably a tracker or immobilizer 

Guessing it's a drivinglikeatoolometer, aka telematics box the insurance company has offered someone in exchange for cheaper insurance.

you mean a box to allow young inexperienced drivers to get affordable insurance by reducing the risk for insurance companies and keeping all our insurance costs down at the same time
