fuel flap came off :-(

Featured Replies

ok so i bought an octavia mk2 last week. Generally ok, after having driven a mk4 golf for 8 years. its a 59 plate 1.4tsi hatchback, satin grey

after filling up today, i inadvertantly knocked the fuel flap and it kind of came back/off... a little bit disappointed as it was only a slight knock.

Howver is this salvageable? or will i have to buy a new one?

can i pickup anyone from the mk2 range? i have the facelifted version octavia.

Any help appreciated.

I've not looked closely at mine but I'd guess if it can come off it can go back on unless you've physically snapped something ...

ive changed the filler flap on mine. Its a bit of a bummer to do.

Done that before. You only do it once.

Yes, it's a new one, as you'll find a small plastic section on the end of the mechanism is broken off.

The cap and surround itself it cheap and easy to do, it's just the paint job :(

That's a bit of luck.

When changing it don't lose the drain off tube at the bottom.
