Amazon prime

Question for those of you with Amazon prime.

How recent are the Adult & Children's movie selections?

What's the current latest releases?

Thanks

Not sure I have prime but never bothered with the TV as most things I searched for that I enjoyed ate behind a paywall

I'll have a look tomorrow and post back

Not extremely recent and if they are then they are not the bigger names

Will have a proper look later but I think the most recently released one I can fnd on there is the George Clooney film "Gravity" There is a pay per view section on there and I have noticed the new "Dad's Army" film on there.

They turn over the new films relatively often. I think there is one studio you never get stuff from but I'm not sure of the name. You also never get any HBO stuff so no GOT streaming ever. Probably deals around exclusivity fighting with Netflix.

Stuff comes on streaming at about the same time DVDs are released for sale. But it'll never be as up to date as a more expensive service like Sky. i.e. The new Star Wars film is streaming on Sky right now but I doubt that will be on Amazon for another  six months if ever.

Some really good stuff.

Mr Robot is good, Man in the High Castle, Preacher.

Quite a lot of Disney stuff but it churns you can never be quite sure what will be available.

All the old Tom and Jerry cartoons appeared recently which my son loves. Hopefully that might mean lots more of those old WB Loony Tunes cartoons will appear.

You can find that some series disappear when you're halfway through as Amazon's license expires but I'm told Netflix is exactly the same.

You get 4k for no extra as well although there isn't a lot of content right now.

You do get some bonuses with Amazon over Netflix. The postage obviously if you buy a lot of stuff. They do make it hard to buy small things though. Prime music was a pleasant discovery for me. Lots of stuff there and you just help yourself. They let you take it offline as well. I've got over 200 tracks downloaded to my phone right now.

I was only subscribing to the streaming service being an Lovefilm customer before the takeover but I picked up Prime for £59 which was less than I was paying for just the streaming. I've still got the Lovefilm disk postage service which lets me fill in the blanks from the streaming stuff so I get GoT etc through that.

Overall I think it's been worth the money.

Thanks for that.

The series/boxsets don't matter too much as we never seem to get in to many of them - although man in the high Castle looks good from the adverts.

Ref music & video, can you register a couple of devices?

There is no 'inclusive' GoT but you can buy it and stream it...

Re music - not sure about downloading to more than one device but I access it streaming from iphone, Fire Tablet and at work from the desktop PC.

I guess there is some sort of fair use measure in there or some sort of measure of concurrency. Since it's only me using it there would never be more than one device at a time accessing it. I assume they would be less tolerate of more than one device downloading at the same time from the same account.

Yes I was just ignoring the paid options. I've only bought one thing on Prime and that was a Brian Cox box set for a space obsessed kid.

I don't really believe in paying extra on these services since you never really own it.

Marginal side teack - i tried buying an mp3 album off amazon earlier this week, car music for a trip, and amazon kept telling me my in date, valid visa credit card couldnt be used on the "global" site. Despite being logged into my account on .co.uk site (nearest to ROI)

Anybody had similar?
