Too good to be true? what to look for in an ex-demo Fabia

Featured Replies

Hi

I am buying a used Fabia and there is one on the top of my list that appears just such a bargain if compared to all other similar options. I'd appreciate some advice here as I am not sure what I should look out for.

The one I like to buy is

http://www.dmkeith.com/used-car-details/used-skoda-fabia-14tdi-90ps-s-ss-hatchback-cappuccino-metallic-manual-diesel-ID_1513605799959.aspx

Ex-demo, 3k milage, 65 plate, £8991, skoda approved.

But with a bit of research I found that many other similar options with near-same price, but with an earlier reg and higher milage, so overall inferior to the one above based on my limited knowledge. E.g.:

Another by the same dealer at same location: 15k milage, 15 plage, 8994

Another  14k, 15 plate, 8990

another 14.2k, 15 plage, 8990

It seems to me that all spec are nearly same except some got trip computer some got alloy wheel. While the one I like is steel wheel and no trip computer. All these raise an alert that it seems they are selling it cheap, if so why?

Am I just worrying too much? Is there anything I should be aware of when buying an ex-demo car?

I'd be really really grateful for any advice!

The first one you link to is an S trim. It has no AC the cabin is very cheap and plastic, as well as the media unit being smaller screen and no mirror link.

S trim models depreciate a lot more but if you are happy to not have those features then yes you can get a bargain.

Page 28 of the brochure does a trim comparison.

Thank you! That's very helpful, I didnt realise it does not have A/C. Won't be any good for lots of motor way driving in the summer.
