Permanent Leaving/Coming Home lights.

Featured Replies

I have followed the Tried and Tested thread on this forum with interest and have enabled both rear Fog Lights, rear DRL's and Front Fogs as DRL's.

I then installed VCDS 16.8 on my laptop failing to realise that the installation wipes out the old 15.7 or whatever the last one was. No problem with that as I had what I needed.

A couple of days ago I enabled Cornering Fogs and they are working well. Then, fool that I am, I decided to reinstate the Sidelights as front DRL's. This too went well. After testing everything I locked the car and went to bed.

Yesterday when I came to use the car the first press of the unlock button on the fob brings on the Sidelights/Coming/(Leaving Home Lights) and they stay on until 90 seconds after the car is locked.

The lights won't turn off Coming/Leaving Home lights are off in the infotainment so what have I done? The factory settings re-set changes nothing.

This is not the end of the sorry tale. Between locking the car the previous night and finding the fault, VCDS 16.8 was mistakenly wiped from my laptop so I have no session log.

Am I buggered up beyond all help? All I want is the CH/LH Lights off as I never used them anyway.

I can provide an adaptations map for anyone who can help but it will be done today as I have reinstalled VCDS 16.8

What a pillock - after returning my DRL's to sidelights from fogs I had set them to "Aktiv 100" -  I does what it says on the tin -  Sidelights on - 100% of the time - when car is unlocked.

Problem solved - still a pillock though!

Glad you fixed it.

Does show that it can be risky doing these changes.

Car does what I need it to do as standard so I wont be fiddling about.

IActive 100% means they are on all the time, not just when then car is unlocked!

:-)

Nope! Only when unlocked - I know - it gave me nightmares
