That was my exact thought when I realized this - the "downgrade" to 312mm must be because of the current heavy front bias under heavy braking. It is cheaper to put smaller brakes at the front than to upgrade the rear brakes

...nah... I think when the time comes I will just upgrade the rears Normally I wouldn't, but I think this car needs it so that it can brake safer.

at my last service (20k) I was advised of corrosion on my rear discs and that i should every so often perform a hard braking manoeuvre from around 40 mph to stop and that this is mentioned in the owners handbook (i haven't checked), I am nearing my 30k service soon so will see what they say, I did as instructed a few times, but after this forgot as its not something you think about doing as you drive around.

It's been a few weeks since the MOT with the advisory to get front discs done also. By John Clark Aberdeen Skoda... I have been onto Skoda Uk as I think this is unreasonable to have all the brakes done in a 19000 mile car as I have no history of brake wear in any other car I have driven or owned..

Well, I took it to another MOT garage to get them to check the vibration wear on the front brake........They checked it as if it were an MOT. Found no problem with discs or pads. So going back to Skoda customer care as Dealer at it... They could have cost me 450 pounds if I listened to Aberdeen Skoda
