LED package plus and KESSY

Featured Replies

Hi all,

Just about to order a 280 Estate through lease comany.  While finalising options over the phone today, I was advised that the LED Package Plus (which I have optioned...a nice bit of bling and a fun way of banishing the winter blues) could only be ordered in conjunction with KESSY (which I have not optioned...400 quid to not have to use a key seems a bit steep).

Can't see anything in the Superb brochure that says you have to have KESSY if you want LED Package Plus, and I think they've got it wrong.

Can any of you good people confirm?

Thanks,

Dan.

Try "building" your car on Skoda's configuration tool (http://cc-cloud.skoda-auto.com/gbr/gbr/en-gb) that should confirm whether or not its required.

My dealer checked. You cannot have the lights without Kessy. Like you, I didn't want it, so it will be a darker car.

Thanks both.

Checked configurator and it's true...very annoying.  Seems odd you can't have fancy interior lighting without KESSY, but there you go.

Hi, I have just joined this forum as I am looking to order a new superb and have the same problem but yesterday I drove a demonstrator (SEL exec) that had the LED plus but did not have KESSY. I have today e-mailed skoda to query their configurator.

Interestingly you get the same required addition of KESSY when you try to add the canton sound system but again the demo car had this, without KESSY.

I've just looked in my November 2015 brochure and it shows the LED plus pack as a standalone option for the SE-L at £195.00

This is reflected in my July 2016 brochure - standalone option still at £195.00

Their ordering system is clearly at odds with their brochures. Maybe a call to Skoda UK?

If they've nobbled the ordering system to bundle it in with KESSY, it's a really cynical way of trying to force more cash out of people, for an option that is no doubt proving very popular. If this turns out to be true, Skoda as a brand will seriously go down in my estimations.

BTW.....

The Carwow configurator still shows it as a standalone option - £195.
