Greenline II Headlight issue

Featured Replies

Basically, I had one of my headlight units changed by a garage doing some work after an accident. The new headlight unit (which looks genuine) doesn't seem to match the old one. Inside the headlight unit, the projector light appears a frosted glass on the old one, the new one is a clear glass. The old one is brighter and the new one looks very dim in comparison. Almost like the light is out. I would expect it to be the other way around. Are there two type of headlight units for these cars (One frosted and one clear type)?

At night it looks really bad and I'm worried I might get pulled as it looks like one of the lights has gone, it's that bad. It looks silly. I am using the Bosch Purelight Bulbs. Before the accident both lights matched and it looked fine. I don't know whether it's just me being fussy but others can see the difference.

What would you guys do in this scenario?

Not much choice other than buy another new light to replace the old one if you get one that matches.

Or get a genuine one to match the already replaced one.

Either way it will cost you some money.

But if you had the headlight replaced by a garage that broke your light, (sorry that is not clear in your post.

?do you mean you had an accident and you paid someplace to repair the car?)

or an insurance company paid for repair?

then have the repairer sort it out by sourcing and purchasing and replacing the correct light.

do you mean the lens looks cloudy on the old one?

if so they seem to do that with age, not sure it is dust or the black paint on the end of the bulbs giving off something that affects the lens

both headlights on my old GLII and my roomster before it did this, my i20 seems to have the same issue with its projector units,

not sure if you can take the bulbs out and clean the inside of the lens, never been that bothered, but I often wondered if this was why after a while the projector units seem no better than a candle on a windy night

Might be a pattern part and not geniune.

Id be taking it back if they'd sourced the parts. Tell em you're not happy and to stop skimping.. Buy the proper stuff
