Keyboard - key locations

Featured Replies

Hi

A friend has a keyboard (Logitek wireless) where some keys are not what they say on the tin. (I.e. @ is neither where it should be, nor where the key says it is).

Can keys be redefined please?

Apols that I'm being lazy by asking ye'all, but if you just happen to know...

Most common of this is that the keyboard layout in Windows is set to be US English rather than UK English (or similar).

Changing this might solve the problem, if it doesn't or the Logitech layout is *that* weird, might be worth (re)installing the drivers which came with the keyboard...

Hi Rob

I think he tried changing the settings. That said, I have a similar Logitek wireless which is OK, so he could perhaps install the driver from my software disk. Never thought of that LOL.

Thanks for the help

I'd get the drivers of the Logitech site rather than the install CD as they update keyboard/mouse drivers regularly to fix bugs (and introduce nice new different ones  )

Interesting ... anytime I've downloaded an upgrade from Logitek, I've had problems and had to system-restore. Haven't bothered trying it recently though TBH.

Then again, his is a new machine so more likely to be only "one step away" at this time :)

Many thanks

If it's a new machine, it definitely sounds like it's running under US English (Window's install default). You'll also find that the
