7 weeks to go !!

Featured Replies

Only seven weeks today until I get my fabia vrs. I will use this thread as my count down because now xmas and new year are out of the way it is driving me mad.

I have hardly driven Velma in the last couple of weeks, I am trying to wean myself off her so it's easier to finally say goodbye :( Although she doesn't help herself by requiring a new battery the other day and needing to be taxed 28 days before she is due to leave me. Ahh well, I'm sure it will still be 'emotional'

I am no longer reading anything negative about the fabia for the time leading up to when mine is born to me. I'm sure there will be ample opprtunity afterwards.

So, the count down begins :D

Pixi - Yer gotta be strong girl

See! 7 weeks minus 5 mins now

Why diddnt you get an Octavia? We all know they're faster.

My wife cried when she p/exed her car .Salesman said it happens a lot.

Not long! (take a hanky:) )

I had to wait 2 weeks for mine, that was bad enough...

...7 weeks

Mo, I don't know why but that just makes me think of Stan :D

I had to wait over 4 months for mine!

Dare I ask?

You can send the tax back to get 11 of the months back though.

It's anywhere between 7 & 12 weeks for my Octavia.

Funny thing is I'll see my car before the dealer -- They have the same transporter company and they deliver to us first - then on to Skoda!

Happened with my last one - I rang the dealer to say it would be with him in 40 mins -- it went off the truck straight into the workshop for PDI

7 weeks minus 36 minutez

Got mine in 4 days  I'm sure the 7 weeks will soon fly by - just hope it's not damaged on the ferry on the way home!!!

I'm already getting paranoid about the ferry journey home. I am going to demand an exclusion zone

All the old bidders scrape their handbags etc passed your car as they make their way to the stairs for the passenger lounges.

Oh help :(

Charter a ferry

Cover it in bubble wrap? :D

Chris

Tie a big red ribbon around it?

Best avoid the champagne bottle ..."I name this car"... Those bottles don't always break (as found out by royalty when launching ships). Best keep the champagne for pouring into glasses methinks :)

And have a disco party for Velma, Herbie-style? Heck, you can probably put on a laser light show from your mobile phone these days

Regards

Hmm, Velma is in my bad books today. Went out to her at 0630 this morning and she was frozen solid, I swear I could see her shivering.

No problem! me thinks, I'll use me good old scraper that I now keep in the passenger footwell. Well, she had hidden it from me  . Ok, don't panic I will start her up anyway and use my deicer and find something else to scrape with

So I turn the key and wait for her sweet sound..............nothing, or rather i should say plenty of power coming from the brand new battery i bought her the other day but that was it

I had to get Mr P. out of bed to take me to work, he wasn't impressed

You and me both Pixi this morning

Think mine is the battery though considering the drain on starting up by the time you've run the fan, heater etc to get going whilst de-icing... at which point it dug it's heels in *Sigh*

It could do with a good run really to get it's bits going, so to speak, so what about I set off from London, name mine Sea Jump, and meet your Velma half way over the English Channel?

Think I'll take out the back seats for weight reduction and replace with scuba diving gear first though :)

(7 week minus one day and counting)

Edit: What am I thinking? There's an Isle of Wight meet - Velma will be spolt for choice  Sea Jump will have to make do with the piccies of the event

Fan? Heater? You're lucky, both of those packed up ages ago

Six weeks to go now  getting closer and getting harder to cope with the wait.

I have been neglecting Velma a bit this past week aswell, preferring to take Mr P. up on the offers of taking me to work.

I also need to make some decisions on the services provided by the dealer, Gap insurance, some stuff they coat the car with etc. Oh decisions, decisions

Hi Pixi

Gap in-surance? Do you not just renew Velma then adjust the cover :ne_nau:?

If they want to cover the car with crazy foam, balloons and red ribbon, I'd go for it :agree:

I guess someone more knowledgeable will be along in a moment... :o

Mo

I'd go for the GAP cover, I wish I did with mine.

As for worrying about the old grannies scratching it, why not buy a good car cover before you pick it up then cover it over whilst your on the ferry. Ok your'll look weird but atleast your new baby will be fine!
