Fabia vRS performance with Bluespark tuning box

Featured Replies

Try the gear stick across to M1, and then just floor it and do not change up until it is in 4th then knock the stick across to D.

That will be at around 100 mph before you let 'D' change it up to 5th.

(whats the worst that can happen, you might find it is quicker than the way you are doing it, and the TC is more likely to put you in a ditch if you are just doing a straight sprint but on a road with a camber.)

I will give it a go next time, are the shift points much different? Also I have seen you mention double kick downs a few times but I'm not sure what you mean.

Best keep double kickdown for special days and when you have uprated clutches.

It is just when not using paddles or stick to drop it more than 2 gears, kick down and kick down again, but it needs to be done at the best rpm and in maybe 6th.

Nothing to do with getting off the line quick.

But doesn't the first kickdown put you at max rpm in the lowest gear anyway? What happens when you do it twice then?

Depends how you do it but if you are into 2nd and you have supercharger and turbo charger you might just have lots of deceleration and then acceleration if you want it into a corner say.

Its something i have done with lots of automatics for a long time but i only drive autos, not all like it obviously.

That 320bhp Fabia is something else, almost getting to TMG Motorsports range. I'm guessing it shares very little in common with standard vRS to get to 320bhp as I doubt standard internals would cope with that. I've shown my wife the video and asked her to never again refer to me as a space cadet or worse as I'm not at that level of lunacy.

Ours is still standard and still not using oil, I'll settle for that at the moment. But I'm reading with interest what can be achieved with tuning box etc.

PS. I don't like the forum layout hence very few posts now.
