A bucket of trouble?

Featured Replies

Picked up a Ambiente FSI 1.6 on Friday, to replace my ailing Volvo v40.  It has been laid up since 2014 due to a broken rear spring Its a 1 local owner car with 77k on the clock. I changed the spring, having previously got it running,  and took it for a quick run down the track. I found it was a little lumpy, flat and wouldn't rev above 4k. I popped my OBD reader into the car and pulled up codes P2102 and P0322, I inadvertently cleared the codes by hitting the wrong button, and suddenly the car wont start. I turns over fine but seems to make no effort to fire. I'm pretty sure I hear the fuel pump running when I switch on but it just wont start. Seems a bit strange that clearing a code has killed it.

The OBD reader now only pulls up P0322 code which seems to be engine speed sensor, but which one is that? My workshop manual wont be here for a few days and I'm keen to get the car in for MOT ASAP - right now I'm driving my sisters Renault - and I hate driving other peoples cars!

Assuming the OBD reader has isolated the problem, where is the sensor located?

Can anyone help?

Once I get it on the road I have an abused interior to sort out. I just hope I haven't acquired a turkey

Should be the crank sensor. Not 100% sure but I think it's down back of engine above drive shaft pointing towards flywheel. Like I said not 100%. That could cause bad non start
