Superb Estate has got to go back :-( what to do next?

Featured Replies

As some of you may have read my new (to me) Superb Estate has a problem with oil consumption. Oil light came on 200 miles into the test (worse the local garage has seen!). Dealer I bought it from aren't interested in paying to fix it and so have basically given me two options; return it or sue them.

They're offering £10,200 back against £10,900. Nearly 3000 miles done in that time. They are refusing to pay for the diagnosis fee (which I am now onto the credit company to do a section 75 on).

If I had the time to put into resolving this through the courts as their attitude hasn't been great about it. Azur Skoda (Sally) has been excellent and gone above and beyond for me. Very pleased with how helpful.

So what do I do now? There are no cars on the market with a similar spec (pano roof, electric boot, DSG, black leather, fr/rr parking sensors) within my budget. My parents are lending me their Jetta for the time being so I can take my time to work out whats best to do.

I'd love another Superb Estate but not sure about going for another 1.8TSI or not. Do I go for a TDI? Do I go for a 2.0T or really push the boat out and go for the V6? (Probably not really the V6 at 15,000 miles!)

Do I look for a different brand? Seen some nice A4 Estates but older and higher mileage. Would ideally like to stay petrol. I really am not sure what to do.

I am super bummed as I really like my car and love the spec. Such a shame that we couldn't come to an agreement on fixing it :-(

Sorry OT.

But sadly this car might just get put to auction and some other unsuspecting owners gets landed with it.

Bought as seen.

This is how it has been for years now with the VW Group Engine vehicles where the VW Group & Dealerships did nothing and did not acknowledge any Fundamental Design,Manufacturing, Component choice, Quality failings or Software issues while still under

the Manufacturers Warranties.

Even having cars returned under deals and the faulty cars sold as 'Approved Used Cars' from VW, Audi, Skoda, Seat without

any repairs being carried out.

Buyer beware.

Make sure that anyone buys a Skoda / VW Warranty with a used car with the engines that might have issues,

VW do not 'Know of Issue' so they sell the warranties, and on and on it goes.
