Ok, so is there any real, measurable difference between premium oils? Is there any hard evidence for which oil is better for the 1.8 turbo? Doing an oil and filter on mine soon so interested to hear of any empirical evidence rather than hearsay.

I've owned many VAG cars, & have always used genuine VAG filters & Quantum oil at the correct service intervals.

My A4 is now on 230k miles, serviced every 9k with Quantum Platinum & VAG filters & uses absolutely no fluids at all between services. :clap:

Thanks for the reply mate. From all the research I've done I'm led to believe that Quantum is rebadged Castrol?

Could well be. Our new Fabia has Castrol Edge sticker in the engine bay as did our previous 2012 Ibiza FR.

Guessing Castrol is more expensive than Quantum??
