Car is due an inspection so it tells me therefore I get the bong.

I won't be able to get the car in for its inspection for over a week so i ask two questions:

1. Can i personally silence the bong?

2. What is the inspection? It's not due a oil change/service for another 115 days or 5300 miles so the car tells me so why after 7 months since its official service is it due an inspection?

Can anyone clarify?

Skoda dealer called me today to advise me I'm due an Aircon service. Maybe this is why my car is binging.

Why it's due an Aircon service 7 months after its first service seems odd. A 12 monthly service is fine but I do not feel the need to return to the dealer 'in between' services. Seems a waste of the owners time.
