Bora to Octavia engine swap...

Featured Replies

Hi I have a 2008 octavia II high mileage with poor compression i also have a 04 bora sport with a 180 bhp very healthy motor...

Has anyone done a vw to skoda swap before are these two as closely related as the octavia I?

I have done many swaps in the past and understand the clocks ecu etc will need swapping...

Anyone help?

Cheers in advance....

What engine is in the Octavia?

Tricky conversion as the cars are different levels of tech. Full CAN on the A5 chassis, A4 is a low level CAN.

Thanks for your input @Tech1e I never for one second thought about CAN good point..

The Octavia is a BXE which I believe is 105bhp engine..

The bottom ends of the engines are different and the crank sensors are of 2 different types, in completely different locations.

The Bora is a 1.8T correct?

The Bora is a 1.8T correct?

No the Bora is a PD 130 sport mapped with bigger nozzles ..

Would actually be cheaper to buy a vRS.
