ROOMSTER WATER SLOSHING NOISE

Featured Replies

I've owned a Roomster from new for six plus years and have been very happy with it until recently when a noise developed in an area behind the glove compartment. It sounds like a half-filled plastic water bottle and only started since the air con was regassed. My local Skoda dealership have been unable to find the cause of this and as we have had no rain at all for a couple of weeks at least it is clearly coming from within the vehicle, but they say this is not related to the air on. They say also that they have not encountered this problem before and it would be helpful to know if anyone else has had a similar experience and how it was remedied. Thanks

There is something in the back of my brain somewhere that tells me I've had this before.

If I recall correctly water had found its way into the box section under the bottom of the windscreen and was sloshing side to side. In the end I took off the wiper arms and scuttle panel and there was a grommet on the underside (near the alarm siren iirc). Popped that out and it drained out, left it out so it would always drain and problem solved.

I'd also check that the scuttle drains aren't blocked.

Thanks to both Techie & KenONeill for your responses as a result of which my Skoda dealership was able to fix the problem by following Techie's solution word for word! Needless to say they were somewhat embarrassed to have the solution pointed out to them. Your help and assistance is very much appreciated - many thanks. AnthonyW

I'm glad it's sorted. I wish I had someone tell me when I looked at the one I had a fair few years ago. I took the bloomin dash out to locate that before I figured I was the wrong side.
